American Heart Association Event

Tonight I delivered and set up for the American Heart Association and their Go Red for Women event held at Domenico Winery (fabulous fabulous venue in San Carlos). I was thrilled to have contributed in even a small way to this campaign. I delivered some great red arrangements as well as a large heart with 400 red carnations that hung above the bar. So here are a few pictures of the arrangements. Enjoy!

A Little Girls Dream Party!!

I really love creating these theme parties. The party that we did this weekend was a Fairy Garden Theme. It was for a sweet little three year old and we had soooo much fun planning it...complete with fairy wands and pixie dust. Each child took home a planted flower in a pot with their name painted on it. The little girls took home fairy wands and pixie dust and the little boys were given pinwheels (Crossroads Cottage).

I'm so thankful to all of our wonderful teachers!! This week is Teacher Appreciation week and we have all kinds of fun surprises in store for them. I was asked to do the flower arrangements for the festivities and of course I said YES YES YES!! It's my little way of saying thank you for all that you do!!

Mother's Day at Valley Hi Country Club

We hope all those wonderful Mother's out there had a fantastic Mother's Day. LS Blooms was so excited to be asked to create the large centerpiece this year for the Mother's Day brunch at Valley Hi Country Club, a private country club in Elk Grove, CA. Mother's Day is the clubs busiest day. We chose to create a piece that stood over 5ft tall when assembled at the club. What fun and what a great club!! We hope to be able to work with this group over and over again.

Bouquets to Art - De Young Museum

The Bouquets to Art exhibition at the De Young Museum in San Francisco this past week was incredible!! Talented floral designers from all around chose a piece of art at the museum to interpret. The outcome was FANTASTIC!! Beautiful beautiful work and so inspiring. I really enjoyed my date night out with the hubby. Enjoy a few pictures!!

I'm so excited!! It's official...LS Blooms is now co-owned by Laura Sabahi and Stephanie Smith. Why is this so exciting...well this is soooo exciting because we now have a studio in the San Francisco Bay Area as well as a studio in Sacramento. I couldn't be more excited to join forces with Stephanie. She is a sweet, wonderful and super creative person with an amazing attention to detail. Watch out floral world here we come!!

I Love Spring!

Spring makes me happy. I love that the days are now longer and that I can hear the sound of happy children outside playing. I just got home today from a week long trip and I was so excited to see that my iris have started to bloom. My calla lily's are exploding and my japanese maple tree is just gorgeous. During spring it feels like every morning when you open the blinds there's a new present outside for you. My climbing roses are going to pop any minute and I'll have a wall of beautiful pink. I can't wait. Thank goodness we have spring and all it's amazing flowers to make us forget about our winter funk we've been in. Here's a few of my FAVORITE spring blooms...sweet peas, peony, iris, ranunculas, tulips, hydrangea, viburnan and of course all the gorgeous blooming trees.

Pebble Beach Wedding

Wow...wow...wow! This wedding was beautiful. Amazing location, wonderful family and gorgeous bride, beaming groom...what more can you hope for on a wedding day. You know that feeling you get when you look at a bride and groom and you just know that they were put on this earth to find each other, well I'm telling you I had that feeling on March 20th. I am so honored that this couple allowed me to be the one to create their vision of the perfect day through flowers. Timeless, romantic and certainly glamorous. Crazy gorgeous roses, ostrich feather, pearls, diamonds, LOTS of candles, pomander balls hanging by pearl strands, grapevine balls over pouring with spanish moss and crystals, flowers, flowers and more flowers - roses, phalaenopsis orchids, antiqued hydrangea, sweet peas...oh I could go on...but I'll let the pictures to the talking. Here is a picture of the house, right on the 14th tee. Can you say UNBELIEVABLE. I hope to have some more pictures soon to share. The fabulous photographer, Kellie Anderson Photography, has promised more. So enjoy these for now. Oh and yes, that is me with my happy bride. Horrible picture of me but boy do I like to see a happy bride.
